The slim, smoothly stylish Nokia 6555 offers high-speed 3G network connectivity for streaming video and music.
The Nokia 6555 can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. The AT&T 3G network uses the WCDMA 850/1900 network, making it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It also gives AT&T the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services. In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go.

With 3G connectivity, you'll be able to access AT&T's Cellular Video (CV) service and the Internet while on the go. Cellular Video features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, iFilm, Comedy Central and exclusive premium content from HBO and much more. It also features AT&T Mobile Music, which provides access to Napster and eMusic subscription services as well as Music ID song-recognition software, music videos and The Buzz music news portal. The handset is XM Radio Mobile-capable, so you can enjoy streaming live digital radio as well. (An AT&T MEdia Max subscription bundle is recommended for accessing AT&T's Internet, video, and music services.)

The dedicated AT&T MEdia Net key provides an immediate connection to the best Internet content, ranging from financial news and sports scores to movie times and reviews or the latest ringtones and mobile games. With its quad-band connectivity, this phone communicates over GSM/GPRS networks and AT&T offers voice roaming in more than 190 countries and data roaming in more than 130 countries.

Customer Reviews
6555 a complete disappointment
I am a faithful NOKIA customer, so I didn't even look at other brands in the AT&T store. What a big mistake! This phone has no battery life after 5 p.m. and actually gets hot in my hand when I make a call. SOO frustrating since we have ditched our landlines for our cells--I told the salesman I needed a solid workhorse phone for calls and texts,…   More reviews
Not bad, handsfree needs work
I've had this phone for about 2 months and it provides basic multimedia (pix, camera, audio), reasonable contact functions and fairly good phone quality. I don't use my phone a lot so battery life is acceptable for me. It's not as big or as solid as a Razr, but the price was right -- free with a family plan.
The speakerphone could be a little…   More reviews
Stay away
If you have to buy a nokia , buy the 6126, it has a better screen, clearer and louder sound, is smaller and has a somewhat better battery , does not drop calls. But this one has 3G, the slowest( 3.6 MB is a lie its only applicable to blacberrys and other phones , these have 356kbps theoretical , which effectively comes out to 12-15 kbps…   More reviews
Good but fragile
First, the bad. I purchased the Nokia 6555b from AT&T Jan 8, 2008. Three weeks later the exterior mini-display was cracked and inoperable. I had worn it on my belt while driving and my seat belt buckle put enough pressure on the mini-display to crack it. VERY disappointing. All Nokia had to do was put a thicker, more rigid plastic cover over…   More reviews
pretty good overall
I got this phone a couple of months ago once my old nokia died, literally. I've owned several nokias and I always feel very familiar with the menus. Although the battery life isn't that wonderful, I don't mind charging it daily. I love the look of it. It's display is amazing. The only thing I'm not really fond of is that when…   More reviews
