- Pixma mp610 all in one printer
- Setting up was great. Unbelievalbly accurate start up instructions. Step by step, and nothing was missed. For that alone I give it 4 stars.
It does everything I want, and the [...] rebate I got for buying through Amazon made this the perfect multi purpose printer. Also, I just bought a Canon camera, so printing directly from the camera is a breeze.
This is my second Canon multipurpose printer. The first one is 9 years old and still works fine, but not with Windows Vista, and since the photo printing technology has improved so much, it was time to retire the old boy.
One downside: My old Canon All-in-One had onboard faxing. I REALLY miss that. - 2008-05-24, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- great printer until you get the u150 error
- I purchased this 7 months ago. Started having problems around the 4 month mark. I am absolutely frustrated.
I am now getting the u150 error - google "canon u150" and you'll see this is a common complaint. I only buy canon ink cartridges (no generic ink) and you have a 20% chance of getting a faulty cartridge - even if it's a canon brand.
I am never buying from canon again. I used to have an earlier canon - loved it. But I have lost all faith in canon because of this u150 error! It took me 1 hour to print 2 pages - from restarting the printer (turn on/off) to re-pushing down the offending ink cartridge.
I am sad to give this a bad review, and I am sad that I have lost faith in canon products. I wish it was not the case. Please reconsider before you buy this printer! - 2008-05-23, 5 of 5 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Good Printer: Canon Pixma MP610 Photo All-On-One Inkjet Printer
- I had the Canon Pixma MP610 Photo All-On-One Inkjet Printer for a month and a half now and I say it's a pretty good printer. I printed plenty of color documents for my wedding and the ink color has stayed true and hasn't faded yet. It prints real fast as well. Had no problems. The only thing is that it doesn't give much options to what type of paper you're using. Like cardstock vs plain paper or other type of photo papers. So, I used the default settings and it printed fine. I recommend it. :)

- No wireless printing
- Very pleased with printer with a major exception. It does not print wirelessly with a router of any sort. The technology has been in printers for years now. I had an HP printer that is at least 5 years old that prints with a router wirelessly. I'd love to get a different printer with this technology, however, Consumer Reports rated this printer #2 and the trouble of returning to Amazon.com is not worth the trouble of shipping costs.

- Mine went back to Amazon
- This printer was huge. It took up every last bit of available space on my desk. It was sure impressive looking.
At 29 days after purchase, the magenta ink cart wasn't recognized by the printer. It was almost full. At this point, the printer wouldn't do anything, no scanning, no nothing. The print quality, while it was working, was extraordinary. I was more than pleased with the photos printed, as well as scanned. I give the photos that it let me print 5 out of 5 stars. However, I will not spend my valuable time messing around with ink carts. I have no patience for that. My old Lex Z55 lasted 5 years and all I had to do was slap in the 2 carts and go for broke.
From reading lots of other reviews on this printer, the magenta cart fails within 30 days and you call Canon and they send you a new cart. I think they must have put a bad batch of computer chips on the magenta carts in with the included with purchase ink carts, just to get rid of them. Then, when a purchaser calls and complains, they promptly send a new one. Just on principal, I think this is a bad deal for consumers and I am not supporting a manufacturer that does this. I could have called and got my new cart and kept the printer, but instead, I packed that sucker back up and requested an RMA from Amazon to come get it, which they did, free of charge. Now I am looking for another decent printer, that will either be another Lexmark or an HP. Never again, Canon. I won't ever purchase one other electronic anything from your company. Bad business, all the way around. Don't buy this printer. - 2008-05-14, 3 of 7 people found this review helpful, Rated:
