- I have owned this mop since March 2009. I'm not really certain the steam ever gets past the thick microfiber pads. Yes, the pad gets wet, but I could 'clean' my floor with a wet towel and it wouldn't really be clean without a chemical to go along with the water. I purchased this product at Costco. We used it to replace our Swiffer because we were tired of trying to track down the expensive proprietary cleaning fluid.
