- Was a hassle, then quit altogether
- I have the full Foodsaver, but thought this would be quicker and simpler. I was wrong. It refuses to vacuum unless pressed down JUST RIGHT, so I was mashing and rolling this things around constantly, trying to get a seal. Then the batteries wore out quickly, and then I got 2-3 bags into the new box of expensive replacement bags when it just quit working. New batteries didn't help, letting it cool didn't help. It's dead, leaving me with this box of bags. VERY VERY not happy with this product. I'm going to try the PumpNSeal next, and avoid the battery issue. It gets good reviews and is much cheaper to use.

- Beware the cost of replacement bags!
- The product works and I really like it, BUT once the local grocery stores had sold everyone this little pump, they ceased carrying the replacement bags. There is no place within 3 towns that I can pick up a box.
This means I have to buy them on line and the cost of a box is ridiculous. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the ziplock system. The bags are priced reasonably and they are available. - 2010-02-15, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Loved it at First, But Then I Ended Up Hating it With a Pure Passion Something Fierce!!!!!
- This appliance worked beautifully at first when I bought it back in December, 07. It would vacuum seal the bags for it with absolutely no problem! I loved it back then and thought that it was one of the best things to come along since the FoodSaver units.
I praised it very highly and thought that it was a perfect companion to the FoodSaver units.
Then ig February, '08, when the time came to change the batteries, things started to go completely down hill with this unit! For 2 months straight, I ended up changing the blasted batteries every 2 weeks!! I spent more money replacing the batteries than I did for the unit itself!!!
The thing just wouldn't work at all after that! It was eating up battery power left & right! Finally, I got fed up and in a fit or rage, I threw the thing into the trash! I even went so far as to buy another Reynolds unit. That one NEVER worked at all! It would come on, but it just wouldn't suck the air out of the bags! Tossed that one out as well!
Later last summer, I found out that this piece of crap has a very serious design flaw. Seems the plastic piston inside the pump is no good because when it warms up from use, itbreaks, rendering the vacuum sealing process completely useless!!
The end results were that this ill-fated unit had to be pulled from the store shelves, along with the bags for it because it was deemed as being completely no good. Do NOT buy this piece of junk or the bags for it! You WILL regtret that you ever invested your time & money into this junk!!! It is best left right where you see it - on the store shelves and on websites!! - 2010-02-02, 0 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- reynolds hadi vac
- I bought as a gift and the person I bought it for likes it and says its easy to use and would only like to be able to buy reusable bags at the store we had to order online for extra bags

- It's okay, but . . .
- We got the Handi-Vac, and it works okay. It's a bit noisy, and you definitely want to stay away from foods with drippy liquids - they'll suck out through the hole and into the vacuum device.
What I did discover one day, just out of curiosity, is that the hand vacuum device for wine storage works quite well. I put the food item in the bag, pushed most of the air out by hand and zipped the lock, then placed the wine vacuum pump over the valve and pumped a dozen times or so and it sucks that baby flat. I find this is also a great way to save vegetables and even bread in the refrigerator. I've put something like a half onion in a bag, sucked it flat, and the onion keeps for days and days without spoiling. - 2009-12-26, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
