Elena's Angels
![]() | Average Customer Rating: Recommend I wrote Elena's Angels to share the story of being Hispanic in today's West. It exposes the prejudices that still exist, but also gives us hope. Life in America's truly rural areas is often misrepresented and misunderstood. In Elena's Angels I have brought to light the fact we all want to fit in, and be accepted for who we are, no matter where we are. Product details and pricing info |

- Great for both young and old readers
- The author has crafted a wonderful short piece that should be enjoyed by readers both young and old. The Western spirit of perseverance despite hardships and setbacks is gracefully woven between realistic issues of ethnic bias and socioeconomic struggle. A great quick pick-me-up, to boot!

- Refreshing and Inspiring
- The West is steeped in history and heritage that comes to life in Deanna McCall's story "Elena's Angels". A touching story of horses, horsemanship and hope, where persistence prevails and the good guys win. A story that leaves you with feelings of gratitude and bolsters your courage in staring down your own problems.
Periodically a story may cheat the reader out of a well-deserved feeling of euphoria at the end, but Deanna delivers in this one. The whole time I read, I awaited the obligatory dousing of the hopes I held for Elena and her father... but to my satisfaction, the story continued to get better throughout and left me with peace and understanding in the end. Thank you Deanna. - 2008-01-29, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
