Photoshop Elements 6 Steps Up!
I did a lot of research before I bought PSE 6. I had been using PSE 3 and was happy with it, but of course, I wanted to upgrade. I had read some negative reviews about the full screen, the lack of undo/redo buttons, the layout colors, PSE 3 compatibility, and such forth. I was a bit worried, but after one use I was in love. The full screen is not an issue because all you do is click below it to get to other windows or files on your desktop. And, you have the CS3 bridge which makes this unnecessary. My only problem with the bridge is that it seems slow and not fully necessary. However, maybe I haven't fully investigated its uses yet. If I want to open another file, I find it just as easy to least PSE and open the file directly than using the bridge. The bridge allows one to open all files from within the PSE program. There are undo-redo buttons! I read about the lack of these several times. I find the layout colors much better on my eyes---I really prefer the darker colors. Every PSE 3 file I had was compatible with PSE 6. I read about an incompatibility issue with tags and catalogues---I am not sure what tags and catalogues are, but all my PSE3 files switched over to PSE 6 without issue. I do a lot of pixel art--I don't actually use PSE for photos too much. PSE 6 upgraded little things--like making it easier to work in tiles or two or more PSE windows at once. I can't think of all the little upgrades--but things that I bugged me in PSE 3 seem to be fixed! My only issue with PSE 6 is that when you choose the eraser for example---I just click the "E"--I often end up with one of the other 3 eraser options than the standard 1 pixel size. If that makes sense. The bottom line is that it is easier in PSE 6 to end up with the wrong tool version especially if you use the keyboard shortcuts. But, this is really a minor issue. All my hesitancies about PSE 6 disappeared upon first use, and I look forward to doing more with PSE 6. Great program. Mac and Adobe did it again!

Windows software for mac
Yes this product is very capable. To me its just windows software for mac. 2 gb space used plus it scatters files all over your hardrive. if you download the trial version and buy the license later.....good luck on activating it. Just like windows..always problems. When uninstalling it...just like windows again...leaves tons of files and folders everywhere. Plus it adds many color profiles that i wont every use. Uninstalling does not remove them. I do not want windows software on my Mac

Elements 6 Mac - A Great Upgrade
The software is now more functional and polished than ever. Having migrated from Elements 2 and then 4, this is a fine upgrade which extends the usefulness of the product, and prevents me from having to invest in the full PhotoShop. Best feature for me is the improved photo merge capability - results hardly need to be adjusted in some cases.

Worthwhile Upgrade
I upgraded from PE3. I was a little worried about the totally new look. I wasn't sure if the gray window would work for me. That is really not a concern anymore. The added features are fantastic, and the look remains very Mac like, even with the different window design.
Highly recommend this program.

great job of photo correction and editing
I have used photoshop for several years.
This latest version is by far the best of
the various versions that I have worked with.
For new users it will usually do a very acceptable
job even if you use the automatic functions.
With some experience and training the functions are
almost limitless and all work very well.
