FROM THE CREATORS AND PRODUCERS OF THE IRISH PHENOMENON CELTIC WOMAN COMES THE NEXT GENERATION IN IRISH BALLAD MUSIC, THE HIGH KINGS. Finbarr Clancy, Martin Furey, Brian Dunphy and Darren Holden - renowned vocalists and musicians - have come together to form the hottest Irish folk and ballad group to emerge since The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem electrified the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s. The musical producer is the highly acclaimed David Downes, who is the musical genius behind Celtic Woman and formerly the musical director of Riverdance. He brings intricate harmonies and driving rhythms to The High Kings songbook, giving them a freshness and sparkle that is infectious. A rousing TV special was filmed in Dublin and is available on DVD (The High Kings: Live in Dublin).

- The High Kings
- If you enjoy Celtic music, this is a must. Some good old standards done with humor, gusto and haunting harmonies. It's a "must have" if only for the rendition of "The Parting Glass". Don't pass this one by! Product was just as described by the vendor and shipping was without problems. Be sure and check out the DVD version More reviews
- Very upbeat
- This has become one of my favorite CDs. Upbeat and complex harmony. Fun listening. More reviews
- A Truly Lovely Irish Quartet
- I first heard the High Kings in a spot on NPR, and I ordered the CD immediately. I am a fan of gorgeous harmonies, Irish music and singalongable (is that a word?) tunes. This CD delivers! More reviews
- Saccharine Pop Production
- I heard these guys sing a capella on NPR's All Things Considered, and thought they sounded great. Unfortunately, this recording fails to capture any excitement. The arrangements are pompous and booming, taking great songs of the Irish tradition and rendering them sickly sweet. Further, the tempo drags, which only prolongs the agony. More reviews
- High Praise for the High Kings
- These guys are great! The songs are very well done and the singing has a wonderful masculine quality. A good mix of newer and older songs. I also enjoyed hearing a faint reminder of the Clancy Brothers in the voice of Finbar Clancy.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable disc filled with songs that seem to slip easily into my head and More reviews
