- Perfect Winter Pond De Icer
- I have a 70 Gallon Pond in my small backyard. I have NO KOI but all fantail goldfish ,from Black Moors to Lion Head Orandas all over two years old and over 5 to 7 inches in lenght. The fancy types I have cannot handle constant temps in the 30 to 40 degree range. The fish are way too large to bring indoors so that is not an option this year. This De-Icer keeps the ice from forming and water temp in the mid to high 40's and the fish are swimming about during the day. I recommend this De-Icer for small ponds especially those with fantail goldfish other hardy fancy types. DO NOT MIX KOI WITH FANTAILS, Koi Do not need any de-icing but a small airator (bubbles)to keep the ice from forming a complete sheet over the pond traping poisonious gases.
