I searched for a 46" lcd tv for about 2 years and this was absolutely the best purchase I could have made. The price was about $500 less than buying at Circuit City and Best Buy and no tax. - Review on Samsung LCD-HD 650 model
- Bought Samsung LCD-HD LN46-650 model two weeks ago from Amazon. Paid a good price of $1579.99. This TV was selling in my area for $2200.00 and had to pay state tax. Amazon shipped free and no tax which was savings. This is my first LCD-HD TV and we currently do not have HD programing on our Dish plan, will wait for Feb.'09.
The TV was delivered by Ceva trucking on exact date set up. They brought the TV into my living room, I asked them to unbox it to check for damage and they did. No damage and my husband set up TV with no problems.
This is a great TV and currently has a great picture and the sports sections are wonderful. So far everything is working great with no problems and Samsung extented 1 yr. warranty with an extra 3 months.
Tv does have a slow start but this is not a problem for me, it is only about 3 seconds or so.
I did alot of TV research because I decided on this TV and so far we are completely satisfied. I do hope I have no problems with the TV as this was a large purchase. This replaced a 25 yr.Sharp Tv for my living which I am still using in my bedroom.
Hooked up a WII and it works perfectly. Do like that this TV has a USB port, computer port, and a digital camera port which I have not used yet but will when I have time.

- This may be the very best 46" LCD TV available.
Picture quality is superior to other TVs.

- Finally bit the bullet.. and no regrets!
- I'm so happy my search is over. I can finally relax and enjoy this amazing product. After months of researching and reading so many reviews of this product, I finally bit the bullet and decided on Samsung's LN46A650 Flat Panel LCD HDTV. I've had this TV for almost 2 months now. I was expecting to run into that power issue I've been reading about, but I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. It has been solid out of the box w/ no issues whatsoever! I've been looking forward to turning this TV on everyday when I come home from work. It's just such a beautiful TV. Picture quality is amazing. HD channels look sweet. DVD movies look spectacular. The sound is great coming from the TV (there's even an equalizer to adjust the sound quality), but will be hooking up a Home Theater System anyways... you just have too! It would be a shame not too. I have no issues with the remote. I get many compliments from friends who come over. They are just amazed w/ the picture quality.
I have 2 other roomates that have their own LCD TV's around the 40" size w/ 1080p and I must say... they don't even come close to the picture quality this TV produces. For those of you who are still thinking about getting this particular model... trust me and trust all the countless positive reviews you read online... you will have no regrets! You will love it. You will have a wonderful experience spending all that hard earned cash! Well worth the investment! Amazon has one of the best prices and their shipping service for this product was spot on! - Excellent TV for the price and features
- I have been looking for an HDTV for a while since the previous version of the this TV was in the market last year (the 71 series) and after searching and reading reviews on the net (here at amazon, [...] and other sites) I liked this TV so much and without hesitations I purchased it.
Here are few things you need to think about when making your decision:
1- When you see this TV on best buy or circuit city, you may not find it the best sometimes because of so much light and other brands around it. It makes it difficult to see what this TV is capable of.
2- With Amazon price, delivery and service in general, stop shopping at your local electronics store as you're really wasting money. Amazon.com is the way to shop. I got this TV for $1619.99 and the price dropped to $1569.99 and amazon refunded my CC for the price difference. You have to know that Amazon.com policy has changed - as many other reviewers said - and they only guarantee the price you purchased for only a week later. Also, with the excellent service you get from CEVA, your purchase is taken care of and you can call them earlier to arrange and earlier delivery of your merchandise.
3- I honestly thought the standard digital TV broadcasting will be ugly or blurry on this TV, but to the opposite. It was much better than my old TV and it was not disappointing at all. You definitely need an HD service to get the best of your TV.
4- A lot of people gave this TV 4 stars of so because of the remote control or the glare and it really depends on how picky you're. I found the remote control to be tricky for few minutes but I got the hang of it quickly and did not find it difficult to operate though I may need to look at it to see what I should do. As far as the glare, I have had the TV for few days now and I have not seen what people are complaining about. If your window or light is behind you when you watch TV or you watch the TV from an angle, then definitely you will see light reflection. Adjust your light or watch the TV perpendicularly.
7- The sound out-of-the-box for this TV is really good enough unless you have a movie theater or want your neighbors to call the police on you.
6- As I mentioned above, with an HD service from your provider, you will enjoy watching anything on this TV. I got comcast HD receiver and I am connecting it to my TV via component cables (1080i signal) and I can't imagine watching this TV with SP3 or Blu ray.
7- I am shooting for SP3 80GB as it is really an excellent choice for both blu-ray as well as a gaming system. I am not a gamer but looks like I will be on soon.
