Excellent quality, excellent value
After spending a few months doing my research on the CNET website (www.cnet.com) and the AVS Forum (www.avsforum.com), I decided on the Samsung LN52A650. It was delivered sooner than I expected and the installation was a snap. The price dropped a week later, so I contacted Amazon and they refunded me the difference. Overall, an excellent experience,

Exceptional
I'm not going to repeat all the positive things that have been written about this TV. Let me just say they are all true and the Amazon White Glove service was flawless. The big box stores just can't compete. In fact, it's not even close. I don't think most people know that if you charge this on your Amazon Visa card the original warranty is doubled at no cost. By using Amazon,I avoided sales tax, paid no delivery fee and got an extended warranty at no cost. Savings of about $400.
This is our second large screen LCD. The first was a Westinghouse 47 inch LCD we bought from a big box store. Let me just say that the quality of the Samsung TV is vastly superior to the Westinghouse. Here again it is not even a close call. My advice to buyers is avoid Westinghouse, get this TV and buy it from Amazon.

VERY PLEASED
First, I am VERY happy with Amazon's price and service! I got $350 refund after I purchased my TV because Amazon has a 30 day price guarantee. You can get a refund if you see a lower price for your same TV on Amazon and e-mail them. They process the credit within a day! Check every day and you can request multiple credits anytime the price is lower for 30 days after shipment.
Second, the television was the lowest price of any reputable internet shop and much LOWER than any retail store (Best Buy, Circuit City, Brands Mart, Frye's). I saved about $1,000 compared to a regular store.
I was NOT charged shipping or tax. The delivery service was good and they set up the television for me. TV was delivered in perfect condition.
The TV is great..Animation (Cars, etc) is amazing on this TV...HDTV, blueray, DVD, and playstation look great.
Motion is greatly improved on this LCD with the 120MZ processing (you need to select if you want it turned off, on, medium, or high). Motion on plasma may be incrimentally better, but the picture and color of this TV is #1!!!
I am recommending Amazon to all my friends and you for electronics purchases...Also, they have cheap options for purchasing HDMI and other cables for your home theater.

Samsung 52 Inch 120Hz LCD HDTV
Samsung LN52A850 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color Best 52 Inch 120Hz LCD's I could identify in the market. Product was at a price far below Best Buy and Circuit City. It was shipped quickly with white glove installation in the home by the delivery person. Worked flawlessly from the start. It is a smart set and thus recognizes immediately other equipment attached. Thus it knows when the DVD has started or a photo SD Card has been inserted. It provides its own slide show for photos. One area that needs improvement however is the annoying time delay switching from channel to channel as a black screen stays in place far too long before the next channel appears. I have accepted the delay as part of the price paid in order to present the best quality picture possible. As for picture quality, I feel like it reproduces a picture at least equal to that being sent to it by cable, photos, etc. The quality of a 52 inch photo in a slide show presentation is really impressive. I am very please with this set and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a new TV.

Great TV, make sure you turn off 120mhz option for non-sports
Lots has been written about the quality of the picture, so I will just say everything written has been my experience also. Awesome picture. It blows away everything else I looked at in the stores and now in our home, it is even better.
Spend some time playing with the menu settings if for nothing else just seeing how much control you have over the picture. The menu is pretty well laid out and easy to make changes (although the remote's scroll wheel is a little frustrating). Menu changes take place right away making it easier to see what you have done without having to exit and re-enter the menu systeam again and again.
Some notes on my setup so that it may help some others having any issues.
TV connected to Comcast DVR (motorola) which seesm to only output 1080i max. Not sure if Comast has newer DVR boxes that offer 1080p or not. Will have to check on that. Might also be a Comcast cable limitation. But the picture still looks pretty great, so I don't see an issue here. I found that newer HDMI 1.3 cables did not work well with this box. I could sometimes get it to work on the side HDMI 4 input, but usually the TV said no cable was connected. I simply used my older HDMI cable plugged into the HDMI 2 input and I now have no problems.
Using a PS3 for games and Blu-Ray movies. At first the picture was really odd looking. Movies looked like video games almost with sharp looking actors against an odd background. Hard to describe but it looks wrong. Same with regular DVDs. Traced this back to the 120mhz refresh being on and when I turned this off, the movies looked great. So you might want to turn this off and on depending on what you are watching. Using an HDMI 1.3 cable here and it works fine.
Also got a Samsung HTZ-310 DVD/surrond player. It really integrates well with the Samsung TV, doing little things like changing the TV input to DVD (HDMI 3 in my case) when I put a DVD in.
For sound, I use an optical audio cable from the TV to the surround sound. This way I get surround on evrything: PS3, Cable and DVD's. Set the surround sound to Digital In for this set up.
I also have a Harmony 550 remote and it has worked well so far. I have used one on my previous TV (moving to the basement) so I got this (only $49 at the time on Amazon, although the price fluctuates a lot). Everything works great. It will turn on the cable box, TV and surround sound, set the proper input and tyhe surround to D.In and I'm good to go. Highly recommended as the Samsung remotes are kind of big and bulky.
Delivery was not great, but certainly not a deal breaker (especially for free). You have to wait for the service to call you to set up an appointment time, for me between 12 and 5. Only one guy was doing the delivery (from CEVA) which seems totally wrong on items with such a large box. I did not appreciate the way he turned the box over to get it up my steps. He also took off right away before I even took it out of the box. Certainly not white glove. So, delivery could be better (maybe it varies by city) but I really did not have an issue with the TV related to the delivery, so I guess it was all OK in the end.
Anyway, I would not hesitate to buy from Amazon. Wait until you are totally ready however as the price seems to keep dropping every week. I purchased in August while they still had the price guarantee. I called back after the price dropped $130 and got a refund. Now it is $50 cheaper again. Not sure if I can get that back or not - will have to try.
