- Amazing TV
- Nothing short of incredible. The picture, particularly when you're watching a Blu-ray movie, is just jaw-dropping. And it even handles standard-def stuff off the cable box (even after the heavy compression with the DVR) really well. 'Touch of Color' thing is nice too -- very subtle, but sets it apart from other TVs and makes the set look a little more like a piece of furniture. Only gripe at all is with the remote, particularly when using the little round slide wheel. It could use a little more resistance, as it tends to fly by the option you're wanting a little too quickly. Luckily, it also operates as a push button device, so you can just as easily scroll up and down by clicking on the wheel.
We ordered (straight from Amazon) on a Wednesday and it said that it would be about two weeks before it shipped. Turned out, it was there by the following Monday, which made us very, very happy. Been loving the thing ever since. - 2008-06-01, 6 of 6 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Best LCD on the Market
- Samsung LN52A650 52-inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color .
I've always wanted a LCD TV, and I finally got the go-ahead fom my wife. After weeks of research, and input from LCD owners, I found what I wanted. This TV is AWESUM!!!!! The picture, and bezel design are first class. I hooked up my Bose sound-system and away I went. Friends come over to the house and this TV instantly catch's their eyes. The glossy finish is well worth the choice, even though the glare can be annoying. The colors on this type of screen far outshine the matte finish screen on different models. And since I really don't watch TV during the day, the issue was a small one.
If your looking for a top-notch LCD TV, then this should be your first consideration. Shop around for a good price, since prices on any LCD TV vary greatly. I went with Amazon for this purchase, and from ordering to delivery, everything went VERY smoothly. The price was great and the shipping was fast. Its a leap of faith ordering anything on-line, but I found that Amazon was a great choice. - 2008-06-01, 3 of 5 people found this review helpful, Rated:

- Fantastic TV
- I've had this TV for a month now and absolutely love it! I've been seriously researching HDTVs for about 8 months and my first choice was going to be the LN5271F, but never pulled the trigger because of the numerous problems users were complaining about on the AVS Forum (great place to research TVs even though the owners tend to be very picky and notice flaws normal users such as myself wouldn't), and the price was slow to drop to a level I could afford. I'm glad I waited because it brought me to this TV. It received much better feedback from users on the forums and even some of the professional calibrators mentioned it is the best LCD tv they have ever worked with, rivaling even the top notch Pioneer plasmas in picture quality.
I currently have HD cable (1080i), Wii (480p), and the computer (1080p) hooked up to it. It has a fantastic picture from all sources. I can't stress this enough, it is amazing. I find myself watching a lot more TV now because of this. Black levels look great and the picture is very vibrant and sharp. The AVS forum also has a calibration thread for this TV which helped me dial in the picture and then making small adjustments to get the picture to my satisfaction. Each source can be calibrated (to varying degrees) and the TV remembers them all.
This TV comes highly recommended. Pricing on Amazon is great and delivery was a breeze. Also, Amazon has a 30 day price match which has put almost $200 back in my pocket.
If you are on the fence on this, come off an buy it. - 2008-05-31, 3 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Great price; beautiful TV
- Pros: quick delivery, great price - and got a refund during first 30-days when the price dropped - Thanks Amazon! OTA HD is beautiful. SD broadcasts on analog cable is surprisingly good on strong stations. Standard DVD playback using a 1080p upconvert DVD player looks great (HDMI cable purchased separately). Little or no pixelation visible at 8ft viewing distance. HTPC connected via HDMI2 using a DVI to HDMI cable (purchased separately) works great. Windows desktop at 1920x1080 looks great; playback of video needed some tweaking of the PVR software (something about square pixels).
Cons: Screen and bezel pick up dust like mad. Remote control needs a better layout and the menu wheel really needs to be eliminated. PIP option should be more easy to access (should put it on tools menu). Would have been nicer to have two coax antenna inputs so I could connect analog cable and OTA at the same time and switch from the remote as another input source. (I have to use a manual coax switcher)
After a long time researching, I pulled the trigger and am happy with my purchase. - 2008-05-31, 4 of 4 people found this review helpful, Rated:
