- Overpriced, Poorly Made, Incompetent Support
- This is one of the worst pieces of software I have ever purchased. Absolutely horrendous. The number of activities you get with this thirty dollar piece of software (oops almost said something else) will keep your child going for two hours at the most, and that's being generous.
The types of activities in that are included in the purchase barely pass for what I would consider 2nd grade level. It is more of a 2nd grade prep. I suppose that if you the want REAL 2nd grade material, you have to pay more.
This brings me to the worst part of this game. The SCAM charge. Seriously. There are a total of twelve badges in this game. You get the first two, and the rest are ten dollars (it has come down to eight dollars since I have purchased it). Total cost of ownership for this game $30 (retail box) + $80 (scam charge for the rest of the game) = $110.
ONE HUNDRED TEN DOLLARS FOR A KIDS LEARNING GAME! What kind of a racket is this? With all of the material purchased, it might equate to ten hours of content.
Do yourself a favor. Learn from my mistake (and the prior reviewer's). DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE. Do not support this company. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
This gets me to my final point, in case you still aren't convinced. After two calls to their technical support department, they are still unable to get my account working. All that hype about the parents being able to have access to all this extra stuff, and send messages to their kids in game... hogwash. Both times I have called, and the second time I was told that they just didn't know what was going on. A lot of help that was.
This software is garbage. If they charged about $70 less, and hired a competent support staff, then they might have something worthwhile. But I couldn't say what the other 10 badges contain, since I can't and I refuse to use it. - 2008-11-26, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- HUGE RIPOFF
- What they fail to make obvious is that you will spend over $100 if you want to do all the tests and options in this program. They charge $8 per "badge" of which it takes about 20 min at best to complete. Probably the last jumpstart item we will ever buy. RIPOFF!!!!! for 30 bucks in this day and age one deserves a LOT more
