too big
the laptop case i bought for myself (for my mac) fit like a glove, so i expected the same for this product. I bought this as a gift for my friend. Although she does like it, it is too big for her lenovo x61. the small pockets are useful, but I wouldn't use it on a regular basis. maybe for a flashdrive, since it's flat and compact. overall, it is a nice looking laptop sleeve and does its job.

Good protection for my laptop
I just bought a new Lenovo T400 laptop, and I needed a sleeve to protect it while carrying it around in my backpack. My backpack has a dedicated section for laptops, but it's a lot bigger than my laptop is, and I also wanted to keep dust, hairs, nasties away at the same time.
The T400 fits very nicely into the sleeve with just the right amount of tension keeping the sleeve on. Pulling it out is not a struggle and is quite easy. The 3 pockets are quite useful. I don't have a mouse yet, but I stick my USB flash drive, headphones and occasionally my power adapter when I need to carry it around by itself. Obviously, it's not a very good idea to stick a whole bunch of things in the pockets when you need it to be flat (like putting it into a laptop compartment in a bag).
The construction is sturdy and the seams are all done well. The neoprene thickness is about 5-6mm.
It also looks cool!

Storage Solution
The laptop sleeve is a nice way to store my laptop and cords when I am not using it, but for major travel not really the best option. The pockets are easy to slip things into, but then make the case bumpy and not really the right thing for pulling your laptop out of your bag. For me the sleeve got stuck on the other things in my bag, but I bet it I traveled with a little less stuff it might have been better.
I must say that I love the material, it stretches to fit everything then after you take things out it does go back to its original shape. I like the material so much that I have purchased a camera case too.

It's okay
The three pockets are a great feature.
However, I wish there was a shoulder strap. Honestly, this cover isn't really thick enough. It looks nice, but I have my doubts that it will do THAT much to protect my laptop.

Form AND function
Before I bought my MacBook Pro last month, I spent a lot of time deciding what kind of case I wanted to go with it. I must have looked through hundreds of cases, messenger bags, and sleeves. Having had some past experience with Built NY (I use one of their lunch bags and my wife and I each use canteens with Built NY sleeves), I knew their products were well-made. I really liked the simple but unconventional look of the Cargo Laptop Sleeve, and the brown and green color combination appealed to me. So I decided to give it a try.
The neoprene sleeve fits the 15" MBP perfectly. It's snug, without straining to enclose it. It provides a nice amount of cushioning both around the edges and on surface areas without adding a lot of size. The flared corner design translates into a little more padding in the corners, where you'd need it in the event of a fall. The interior uses a different material than the exterior neoprene, and is very soft, almost like terrycloth. As with other Built NY products I've used, the stitching is double reinforced and very strong. I was a little worried about the zipper, but it's plastic and secures in such a way that I do not worry about it scratching the aluminum case.
There are three open pockets that secure their contents simply through the stretchiness of the neoprene. In the large pocket I keep my power brick and cord. The medium pocket is perfect for a coiled iPod cable, but would also be a good place to stow the iPod itself. The smallest pocket is ideal for a thumb drive, memory cards, or the Apple remote.
Keep in mind that this is a sleeve (i.e., NO HANDLES OR STRAPS), so toting this long distances is not recommended. But it's perfect for sliding into a backpack, messenger bag, or suitcase, and provides extra protection from whatever else you have in there, or an unforeseen drop or collision. If you do drop it in the mud or something, it's machine washable in cold water.
Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this sleeve to anyone who is looking for a simple means to protect their laptop, and wants a little style and storage to boot.
