The Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK DVD recorder is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. Even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos. Connect your Panasonic DVD recorder to a flat-panel HDTV via an HDMI cable and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder. Once the Auto Preset Download is complete, the DVD recorder will keep whichever TV channel you're watching as its receiving channel. This means you can record the program you're watching by just pressing the Record button on the VIERA remote. With VIERALink, you don't have to worry about setting the recorder to the right channel every time you want to record something. Frequently used buttons, such as Power and Open/Close, are located at the top of the main unit (this makes them easier to see when the unit is placed in a rack, where you need to look down when operating it). - The unit hooks up quickly using a HMDI cable. The picture is very good on DVD and digital broadcast. Tuning channels is slow and the unit locks up if you change channels too fast. No "recall" button for the last viewed channel. You also have to use the"input" selection button to change from broadcast to SAT TV. Have not used recording… More reviews

- I've bought two of these machines now, just returned the second one today. I really enjoyed the functionality of the machine, it worked fine when recording digital tv to be watched later. The quality was OK as long as we did it in 2-3 hours per disc mode. If you try to do 6 hours, it's pretty pathetic. After a few weeks the first machine began to freeze up.… More reviews

- I bought this b/c of the VHS/DVD combo... Our daughters still want to see ALL the Disney Princess VHS movies so I thought to combine the two would be a great move ... - Disappoint from Panasonic
- I got this set thinking this is just everything I needed DVD recorder.
But, I was very disappoint for 1) very often skip scheduled recording 2) periodic lock up and gave N99 error code,(frequent needs reset). 3)you can not record over the air TV program onto VCR tape, so, if your DVD ram is full, the VCR can not… More reviews
