Waste of time and money: The recorder would record no more than about 10 minutes of programming before the picture would freeze, or the sound would cut out, or both. This would then be followed about 30 to 90 seconds later by a cryptic error message (which disappeared after only about 5 seconds) and the disk being ejected.
