The beloved chef Emeril Lagasse has teamed up with renowned cutlery company Wusthof to create Emerilware knives — a collection designed to deliver great performance without breaking the bank. Crafted in Wusthof's German factories, Emerilware knives feature blades that are laser-cut from high-carbon German steel. This material is durable, handsome, and stain-resistant, as well as excellent at retaining a sharp edge. Emerilware knife handles are ergonomic in shape with a nonslip grip and sport the Wusthof trident insignia at the end. All Emerilware knives are stamped on the blade with both the Emeril signature and the Wusthof logo, making them great gifts for Emeril fans.
This Emerilware set includes a cutting board and an 8-inch bread knife great for slicing fresh loaves or making quick work of big tomatoes. The cutting board is fashioned from bamboo, which is both highly durable and easier on the environment than many hardwoods. - Bought this and the similar chef's knife set on a 1-day sale; this one, at least, was a decent deal.
Knife is v. sharp (at least for now), but not sturdy; fine for bread. Board is oddly shaped, long and narrow, but again, fine for bread.

- The blade is ideal..it is not in IMHO thin. It is sharp...be careful.
Designed to cut most breads. If you have special needs than perhaps a different knife is required. I also have a Chicago bread knife that is longer for bigger/crustier loaves. Considering what many people use out there this is VERY good.

- Somewhat disappointing
I was disappointed in the quality of the knife -- thin, flexible blade, although it is better than the slicer also in this line. And the board is so small that it really is useless to me. There are much better knives at this price point ... including OXO, Victronox and Anolon. Don't let the Wusthof name fool you. Don't let… More reviews
