Love It! This is Great!
I recently purchased the Flip Ultra, and I really like it (see my review over there for the black one). Then I had the good fortune to receive the Mino through the Vine program, which is even better.
The picture quality is about the same as with the Ultra - for something this size and this price, it's excellent. It has a little difficulty with fast-moving objects (or if you pan too quickly) making them somewhat blurry but for most uses the quality is fine.
The unit itself is even more compact than the Ultra, especially in its thickness. I really like the size - it makes it so portable. The controls are very easy to use. One nice improvement over the Ultra predecessor is that it uses rechargeable batteries that you can recharge either by plugging into your computer's USB port (while the computer is on, not while it is off) or by using an optional adapter. Another difference with the Ultra is the addition of pause, fast forward and rewind functions for playback. Sound quality is the same as the Ultra, which is to say perfectly adequate for most purposes.
I don't upload any videos to Youtube, etc., so I can't comment on that feature. Also, as with the Ultra, I had trouble installing the built-in software and that is because supposedly I had a previous unauthorized version of the 3ivx codec that I got from a K-Lite codec package. By uninstalling the K-Lite version, the version that comes with the Mino installed successfully.
This is a great little video camera. The build quality seems fine and it really comes in handy. You can take it anywhere and don't have to hassle with a bulky camera and lots of equipment, it is really easy to use, and the video quality is very good. I am sooo happy I have this.

Mino Series Camcorder
Honestly, when I first ordered this, I was afraid that it would be one of those really cheap, low quality camcorders that could break at first impact. However, after using it for a good month or so already, I find that it is not only reliable but also very convenient, especially when uploading the videos onto the computer. In addition, the quality of the lens is superb. Much better than your average camera. Though the total recording time is only 60 minutes, you definitely don't need that much, seeing as how all you need is a USB port to clear those videos off of the Mino.
I would highly recommend this product for the average consumer to use. You will not be disappointed.

flip mino
Bought this just for casual, simple videos of the family and friends. I love it because it is so small, light weight and easy to use. The quality is pretty good, but you cannot zoom in real close; the sound is good too.

cute toy, but not much more
This thing is a techno marvel, in that they can pack so much into such a small space. but, in the end, so what? It's marginally better than most cell phones or digicams in quality terms, except for its long record time (60 min). But the video quality's still mediocre, the zoom is almost non-existent, the audio's sub-par, and, at the end of the day, it's just not worth the price. For another hundred bucks or two you can get a mini-digi-cam that has some actual features and serves a useful purpose.
The most annoying features are the (too) touch-sensitive controls that actually allow you to delete a file without knowing it, and the lack of an audio input that would allow an external mic or audio source.
That said, it's pretty, worked perfectly out of the box, and shows potential for the future.
This would be a fine toy for kids or casual users who just want to email fun shots of themselves to friends, but, even for that, it would be too expensive. This product's a solution in search of a problem.

Fun Gadget
I am a huge gadget freak and I think this is the most fun gadget I have ever owned! The small size lets me take it every I go.
