Little Green is HUGE!
lemme start off by saying i originally bought the pet version (for about $20 more) but after reading reviews everywhere about how the heating element tends to blow out pretty soon, i decided to buy this version instead for about $69 @ walmart- definitely NO REGRETS!
bought it to clean up dog 'messes' and it works wonders! but just so that everyone is clear...it's not a shop vac! so when there was a mess, i actually cleaned it relatively well first BEFORE i used the little green on it and it took away ANY traces of stains/ smell/ discoloration...EVERYTHING. so i guess as a stain/ spot remover it works perfect! i found a few salt spots (normally the black marks on your carpet in heavy traffic areas- left from your shoes after coming in from the snow) and it took them right out!
so here's a quick breakdown that i hope helps make up your mind if you're on the fence:
PROS:
- LIGHT and easy to carry around (i think it's only about 10 pounds?) and the hose makes cleaning that much easier
- POWERFUL enough to clean thicker carpets too. again, i used it as a stain remover rather than a shop vac- so a pre-cleaning of the area prior to using the little green definitely helps results
- IDEAL SPOT REMOVER for things like pet messes, random 'phantom' spots on your carpet, juice spills, etc.
-
CONS:
- TIME to MAINTAIN/ CLEAN up the little green itself- can be a little cumbersome. i actually found myself cleaning the parts for about 10 minutes after only spending about 3 cleaning up the mess off the carpet with the little green...so it's not much of a time saver, but i'd rather spend more time cleaning up the parts to ensure that it lasts me longer!
- SPRAY is really odd. it's really wide and tends to kinda miss the area that it's meant to clean? takes some getting used to, but can be a little 'surprising' the first few times
as a final note i will say that this will NOT replace an upright carpet steam cleaner so DON'T try and use it to clean an entire room- you will most likely be disappointed.
it's a PERFECT stain/ spot remover INSTEAD of bringing out that heavy, clunky steamer in the event that your pet/ child/ drunk roomie has an accident. i'd still give it 5 stars only coz i'm willing to overlook how long it takes to clean it IF it does a good job removing the stains...and it does!

Sprays too much water and suction isn't strong enough.
I purchased this machine after breaking a piece on my other little green machine. It was an older version. LOVED IT! Two problems with this machine...The sprayer sprays a path at least 3 times possibly 4 times wider than the vacuum head and the suction isn't strong enough. After 2 full containers of water (to the proper line limit) there was only about an inch of water/sludge/dirt in the return section. It needs more suction power so that it doesn't leave the area so wet. I mean it leaves it VERY wet. I ended up using my Dyson, yes, I know, it's not a wet vac. I used it anyway, to suck up some of the excess water. I didn't want it to mildew from being so wet.
On the positive side, the water that it did suck up was indeed very dirty and I didn't even think the area was dirty!
I probably should have only given it 2 stars but I can't change it now.

BIG little guy
Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner
Our older dog has laid claim to her area on our rather expensive sofa. Unfortunately, our her claimed space was getting darker and starting to get that doggie smell. It would cost $125 to have it cleaned, but only $69 to buy the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner 14007 and be able to do it whenever we needed. I did the sofa yesterday. It smells great, looks good, and dried quickly. I sprayed it with the Bissell Pretreatment Spray in the blue spray bottle and then just used plain warm water to clean and rinse it.
I bought this just for furniture as we have wooden floors. It was easy to use and clean. It was a great purchase for us.

Removes Pet Messes Well
The deep cleaner requires a bit of elbow grease to loosen up old stains, but it works well to get out messes. It does require going over the same spot a few times to try and get it dry, but the suction does work well. Previous reviews mentioned that it would smell if you did not clean it out, but we have just emptied the dirty water after each use and cleaned out the hose, and we have not had any problems. We leave it with a a little cleaning solution in it, so that have it ready when we need it. I would really recommend it to any family with pets or small children.
