Butterfly Spinner
I bought this as a decoration for my mother's garden. She and her neighbors enjoy watching it spin lazily on hot days or crazily on windy ones.

Outdoor Use Preferable
Our home has a wooden deck that is partly shaded by the eaves under which we hang a variety of outdoor gewgaws and feeders. Although we take great delight from the wind chimes, stained glass ornaments, bird feeders, butterfly feeders, and sundry other tinkling, reflective, and refractive trinkets, we felt something was missing, and that something was the 14'' Mosaic Butterfly Cosmic Wind Spinner.
Out of the box, the Cosmic Wind Spinner was beautiful to behold, its sinewy copper curves streaming around the gossamer wings of an ethereal butterfly. "Delightful!" I exclaimed. I immediately hung it from the screw eye I had previously installed in a place of honor between the Woodstock Percussion TRCBRM Tudor Rose Chimes and the SohoDecor Red Cherries Hummingbird Feeder. As if on cue, a gentle breeze wafted across the garden, kissed my cheeks, and set the Cosmic Wind Spinner twirling and spinning, and indeed, it became a "gallery of motion and beauty."
As I stood transfixed at the Cosmic Wind Spinner, hypnotized by the midmorning sunlight glinting off the swirling copper, I became unsettled at the prospect of a "verdigris patina finish" dulling the shine of the copper. I recalled how the Statue of Liberty, newly arrived from France as a gesture of friendship and goodwill, stood gleaming in New York Harbor, but then after years of exposure to the air and sea water, acquired the muted, verdant hue so familiar to all. While entirely appropriate for a stately and symbolic statue, I did not think a "verdigris patina finish" would necessarily enhance the Cosmic Wind Spinner, so I brought it inside.
Once inside the Cosmic Wind Spinner immediately lost some of its fey bucolicism. "Maybe it needs to spin," I thought, so I inhaled deeply and blew. As the Cosmic Wind Spinner turned and began to regain some of its magical life, my spirits lifted and I took another deep breath and blew again. Rewarded by the dancing movement, I blew more rapidly, laughing as the Cosmic Wind Spinner spun faster and faster. I blew and laughed and blew faster and faster until I passed out.
When I came to, I saw the face of my wife leaning over me. "What are you doing on the floor?" she asked. I explained to her what happened, and she gave me a funny look before telling me, "Maybe you should put the Cosmic Wind Spinner back outside." I nodded my head and did just what she suggested. Now I enjoy the Cosmic Wind Spinner under the influence of Aeolus's breath while saving my own.
