Great computer for the money
I have 3 sub-portable computers. The new Dell Mini 9 (Atom bassed), the HP 2133 and a Dell Latitude D430. The HP 2133 blows the mini 9 out of the water. The 2133 is much faster than the Mini 9. Although the Mini has the new Atom processor, it has a very slow SSD with no tradition hard drive option. In addition, the mini has a glossy case that picks up fingerprints like crazy. The aluminum case on the HP is much nicer. But the big difference is the keyboard. The HP keyboard is far superior, the Mini 9's keyboard is acceptable, but it's way too small to type fast on.
Taking all this into consideration, at $399 from Amazon for the HP with a higher res screen, bigger keyboard and a 120GB hard drive, vs the Mini w/512MB RAM, 4G SSD, it's a no brainer. I actually prefer the mini to my Dell Latitude D430, altough the D430 is very nice, it's also a lot more money! So don't let the VIA processor steer you away from this product!
Buy it and put XP on, it works great! It does get hot on your lap, but so does the mini and the D430.

Size does matter! and performance too
Bought for portability, as an independent consultant carrying around my 15.4" Sony notebook has been killing my back. The HP 2133 is light-weighted just fits in my purse, yet the keyboard has a very comfortable size. The sound quality is very good, if only speakers were located somewhere else this would add a couple more inches to the screen, which I'm yet not very comfortable with.
Hard drive and UBS ports (for pendrives) have compensated the lack of CD/DVD drive when it comes to screening movies for my 3 year old son on long road trips.
As usual, Windows Vista must be downgraded to XP for optimal performance.

A steal!
For $299, this HP mini notebook is a steal!
I have compared it to the make of EEE and Acer. This is one solid laptop.
After the initial adjustment and wifi setup, mine is working so great. Of course, if you do not want to go into the technicalities of Linux, I suggest you stick to a Windows XP setup.
Oh yes, and it does get warm, as most of the buyers say. But for $299, I got myself a very good bargain!

**DO NOT GET THIS notebook...SLOW CPU!!!!!!!!!**
No wonder Amazon lowered the price and it's running on Linux because this netbook came out way before the intel Atom's processor was born. This netbook can't event handle video playback very well. Save your money and get the Acer Aspire One 6 cell or the Samsung nc10 6 cell....you've been warned!!!!!!!!!!!!
