Great for a music loving toddler!
We got this for my daughter (just turned two) because sometimes her music is the only thing that will get her out of her bad mood or stop a tantrum. It's nice that it plays MP3s as opposed to only songs in a certain format. I also love that the volume and play lists are parent controlled. We have one play list of just lullabies which I switch it to before nap or bedtime. I do have to say that it is not "toddler proof". My daughter was able to bite through quite a bit of the plastic before I realized what she was doing. Also, when you drop it, it turns off and when turned back on again it is on the other play list.
Overall a great product!

SweetPea3 does the trick for our little guy!
My wife and I got this product for our 3 year old son, who has become accustomed to falling asleep to music. We previously had the Fisher-Price aquarium, but the monthly battery budget for that one was pretty steep (4 D cells), and we were at our wit's end with hearing the same three songs over and over (though our son certainly didn't seem to care, of course). Then we got the SweetPea3, and swapped it for the aquarium, and our son loves it and hasn't mentioned the aquarium once. We've filled it with new music (nice!) and experimented with the auto-shut-off times to see what works best. It's very easy to use.
The instructions suggest that it not be used in bed to go to sleep, because a child might fall asleep with his/her head on the speaker, and might cause hearing damage. The SweetPea3's volume is much quieter than the aquarium's was, so naturally, the first thing our son did when we opened it for him was to hold it right up to his ear (he tended to crank up the volume to max on that one, which didn't help the battery life). So, since we are sensitive to the hearing damage issue, we found a nylon strap with a couple snaps on it, and using that, attached the SweetPea3 firmly to the wall next to his bed, low enough so he could reach the SweetPea3, but high enough to be away from his ears. It works great--our son seems to have figured out that it's plenty loud without putting it next to his ear, especially as he's trying to go to sleep in his quiet nighttime room.
Our only complaint with it is that there's no backlight on the display, which would be helpful when we (or our son) want to pick a particular song in the dark. We wouldn't want it to be very bright at all, just a tiny light would be nice. Other than that minor detail, it's a great product, with just enough features to be very useful (like the various auto-off times, multiple playlists, parental control of volume), but with enough simplicity (only three buttons) so that it can be easily controlled by a 3-year old in the dark.
