Oh So Quiet!: My spouse discouraged me from buying a fairing when I purchased the roof rack. BOY was it loud! Without a fairing it makes an incredibly ethereal howling noise if you drive above 30 MPH. The guys at REI suggested wrapping string around the poles. works as advertised, should have done this years ago: as others have said, this product does a remarkable job of eliminating wind noise and turbulence generated by Yakima roof racks. Remarkably, it even works with a canoe on the rack, which was quite unexpected. This is a must-have product for any yakima roof rack. The service and price were excellent as well. More reviews
