- Always WordPerfect for me!
- Yes, I've used Microsoft Word some, mainly because it was bundled on a previous computer years ago, but I "live" in WordPerfect - always have since WordPerfect 4.0 back in my first days of operating my own secretarial service in the early '80's. It was recommended by the computer sales person and it has always drawn me back from forays with other word processing programs. I've always loved the reveal codes mode, especially when something isn't acting like I think it should - I can see what code is causing the problem and work around it or delete it.
This newest version has capabilities I haven't begun to explore, but for you Word diehards, you can run it in Word mode and still get the power of WordPerfect. Same thing for the QuattroPro portion of the suite - run it in Excel mode if you are already comfortable with that. And of course it converts those modes if you receive docs from other people. I'm anxious to use the PDF revision option - may be able to cut out an extra program on my computer with this built-in. Thanks, Corel. - 2008-10-22, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- WordPerfect is still perfect
- WordPerfect 14 continues to be perfect. I'll never understand why it did not become the dominant word processor. The other programs in the package are impressive but WordPerfect remains the star.

- WordPerfect Office X4 Professional Upgrade
- I purchased the WordPerfect Professional Office X4 upgrade from Amazon. It costs $110 more than the Standard upgrade. The only difference is that the Professional upgrade has also Paradox, which Standard upgrade does not have. After receiving it, I tried to install it. It installed fine, except Paradox. I called Corel technical support. There they told me that Paradox cannot be installed on a Vista computer. That means that it is a waste of money to buy the Professional upgrade for a Vista PC. It will install exactly the same as the cheaper Standard upgrade.
