Sturdy, compact phone
This is a great phone with few flaws. The battery life is phenomenal, lasting 6-7 days on average for me. It has good sound quality and a decent camera. It's kind of annoying to use the external buttons and menus, but you can always flip it open and continue from what you were doing. also, it seems to be a very sturdy phone that can withstand abuse.

Seemed like a good phone at first, but not for me
Once my contract with T-Mobile expired, I was free to finally browse other carriers and their cell phones. I had wanted to give Verizon Wireless a whirl. I wanted something to make calls and send/receive text messages, but also to browse the web, listen to music, store pictures and get some neat applications. The LG enV2 seemed like an ideal choice for me. Plus, the maroon-colored one seemed like a fashionable, sexy choice for a geek chic such as myself. :)
Well... after using this phone for about a week, the inconveniences outweighed the good stuff. The calls sounded clear and the Qwerty keyboard, while small, was great for texting, and the phone does have a nice look to it, but the good things end there.
* The phone's volume isn't high enough for me. And when I have to constantly tell the people on the other line to speak up, it just becomes annoying. Can you hear me now indeed!
* The lock feature is a big nuisance. You cannot hesitate to type in a number or look up a number for one second because that's all it takes for the keys to lock up. You will have to unlock the keypad more times than what is considered normal.
* The front screen is too small. I thought it wouldn't matter to me. After all, it does have a larger screen when you flip it open on the side, but it nevertheless became a deal-breaker as I continued to use it.
* The web browser isn't so great, and neither is the phone's interface.
* The phone doesn't come with an USB cord. You have to buy it separately. You also have to buy the memory card (expandable to 8GB) separately. Both of these things would've been fine had this phone been compatible with a Mac...
* It's not compatible with a Mac. I couldn't synch all of my pictures, music, contact and other important stuff into this. Why oh why do I have to bother with boot camp and special Verizon software just to do this?!?
* I have to use Verizon's crappy V-Cast software to do everything from downloading music, videos to changing the phone's wallpaper.
* Don't like the built-in camera. Positioning the phone to take a picture is troublesome and awkward.
And so, those were the reasons why I returned the LG enV2 to Verizon. (You can only do this during the 30-day trial.) I got the LG Dare afterwards, which I also returned. (More on that on another review.) I ended up going to AT&T and getting the iPhone 3G instead, which suits me perfectly. (I might end up getting a VZ account to get a BB Curve or Storm to separate work contacts with personal and work contacts that I'd want to be in touch with all the time.) The LG enV2 just wasn't my cup of tea. If I am wrong about the features, or if there is some sort of solution for the problems I had with it and wish to share it for any interested buyers, feel free to do so. These, however, are my reasons for disliking the phone and I stand by my review. Good luck!

Good phone, not perfect nor great
As someone who only needs a cell phone for checking in with families, doesn't text or check emails (I face a computer 8 hours a day as is), I like the phone enough to rate it 3 stars.
I like it mostly because I can use its speakers (thus talk hands free) while I drive. All I have to do is flip it open and the call is connected. (By the way, for those who complain about which external buttons to push without flipping it open for answering calls, you CAN program it to "any button").
I like it because I am using it as a mp3 player besides just a basic phone. I also like taking videos of my six year old practicing piano. As a basic phone, it is not with the best reception - I haven't had people complained about hearing me, but I could hardly hear them most of the time unless I flip it open and us the speaker phone.
Since I don't need internet access, the QWERTY keys are used only when entering contacts' names. It is still quite nice.
I got it as an upgrade every two. I didn't expect it because I was supposed to get an LG NV. But they ran out of it by the time I called to inquire about a the every two txt I received from Verizon. So I have had it since July and I didn't have to pay anything for it while continuing on my family plan.

Excellent phone
I'm a long time verizon customer, and I have yet to be disappointed with LG phones; specifically with the enV2. The battery life is superb, nearly doubling that of my old motorola phone. The large keys on the outside display make dialing simple even when you're in a hurry (or multi-tasking!) and the sound quality is clear and crisp.
QWERTY keyboard is great for texting. I was initially concerned about the size of the keys on the inside as compared to the enV. These keys are a bit longer but closer together. After spending a day texting practically everyone in my phone book, my fears were put to rest. Very easy to use!
The ringer volume on the enV2 can also be set VERY high, so much louder than my razr was capable of. I currently have mine set on the medium low volume setting and I always hear it, even when I'm at the bar with friends. Great for people with hearing impairments or those who just love to show off their ringtones!!
The ONLY complaint I have is the same as many others, the outer keyguard. I first thought it was rather annoying that you couldn't disable it. But after dumping the phone in my purse on nights out, I've found it is rather easy to have an errant tube of lipstick mash the 'OK' button and get past the keyguard for some drunk dialing fun. It doesn't hapen too often, but if you're going out to the bar I would recommend taking your parents OFF of speed dial...makes for some awkward situations :)
Overall, 5/5. Great phone with amazing functionality, except that darn keyguard!

STOP TRAFFIC with Env2 cell phone
I've had every make and model of cell phone but this LG Env2 phone by far blows the competition away in many areas. First of all, I love the full keyboard for texting and emailing! It's so easy to type in real time for texts and emails, your can send what you need to in much less time than the traditional "tap" method. I chose this model because it was loaded with features, although you can't surf the web with this particular model, the Blackberry was the other competition I considered that does offer internet surfing, but I liked this unit, even without the web because of it's pocket size. Blackberries are much bulkier and I wanted something narrower to fit in my pocket. This phone has a really great speaker phone feature with loud enough volume to hear several feet away with clear, precise sound quality. The short cut arrow controls on the inside of the phone are awesome because it gives you a one click short cut to your favorite phone features, like calendar, alarm, email, or text. I am able to be anywhere in the country and get calls anywhere, with great Verizon coverage, and can run a home business like I were sitting at my home office. This phone has a great voice command which with one touch controls, you can phonetically pronounce the person you want called and have them on the line in seconds. I use the voice controls while I'm driving so I can have both hands on the wheel. The only thing I've found that I didn't like about this phone was that to access your voicemail messages, you had to open the phone and go to the messages menu. I went into my local Verizon store and told them that I didn't like that and they programmed my phone for me so now, I can hold the "1" button down on the front cover and have it dial my voicemail and input my security code for me all with one button press!! I can honestly say, I can't think of one thing I don't love about this phone! This phone stops traffic everywhere I go. People see how quickly I can access my texts, messages, and email and want to know where they can get one. I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!
