It allows me to rest my Kindle 2 on a raised knee: In addition to what others say about it, I thought I would add that when you fold back the cover, the back surface is a rough suede and when sitting on the ground with my knees raised, there is enough friction to hold the kindle on my nearly vertical thigh without using my hands. AVOID, will crack your Kindle case: This case is a nice one. Seems to be good quality, but a serious design flaw leads to cracked cases. The right side of the Kindle is not secured to the right side of the case. After a little while, the hooks on the case that insert in to the Kindle gradually bend upwards.
