Excellent TV with great delivery service
Our 52' Samsung LNT5265F HDTV is more than we expected. The delivery of the TV was excellent and arrived before the estimated delivery date.

Great deal, great tv.
I didn't purchase this tv through amazon so I can't comment on their delivery system, but I'll comment on the tv itself.
We got got the tv this saturday and hooked up the home theater system sunday. This tv is pretty amazing.
There have been deals on this tv all over the place because samsung released 2 new models upgrading the contrast ratio. Those models cost over $1000 more each.
That said, my expectations were pretty low. I assumed that there must have been a good reason why they upgraded this tv with 2 very similar models.
I haven't seen either of the 2 new 52" lcds personally, but this tv is stunning.
It has more than enough inputs (3 hdmi) to set up video games, digital cable, and dvd/blu-ray. By the 2nd day, we had digital cable, nintendo wii, 1080p upconvert dvd player, ps2, and 5.1 surround sound set up. We'll be replacing the ps2 with a sony ps3 which includes a blu-ray player. A friend also brought over an xbox 360 which connects through hdmi. We played rockband, it was a blast.
The picture itself is very sharp, especially while watching sports (espn hd is incredible). The only drawback i noticed was while watcing an ondemand movie in hd. In very close shots while it's dark and moving fast we saw a bit of blur factor. That was a bit of a buzzkill, but the tv really makes up for it the other 99.9% of the time. The brightness is also easily adjustable depending on the lighting in the room. There are 3 quick settings (dynamic, standard, and another darker setting i cant remember offhand) standard worked best in our living room while dynamic looked very bright and would really work great in a large room. We had the cable box hooked up via hdmi/dvi cable. The manual recommends using hdmi cable 1st and if not, then component cable. I wouldn't recommend anything less than component cable.
A lot of people comment on the weakness of the tvs sound from its own speakers. We only listened to them for a day, but I was even impressed with the sound from those speakers. I'm never really impressed by tv speakers, but for low-wattage speakers, I was impressed. We still hooked up the surround sound, but if you're not into surround, I think the tv's sound is sufficient.
I've seen it mentioned here before, but make sure you have HD programming before buying this tv. HD is a must for this model. I have comcast which has a broad selection of HD channels (hell, even hgtv has an hd channel). I've heard good things about directv and verizon fios, but could not personally vouch for them. Comcast hd looks awesome, though. The non-hd channels...not so great. They're not bad, but again HD is a must.
As far as the features, we haven't played with a whole lot. There is a usb input, I'll be hooking my ipod into it soon. I haven't tried the picture-in-picture, but I know it's available. The screen size is easy to adjust from the remote.
I can't really say enough about this tv. It's perfect for us, I'd recommend this model or anything similar from samsung to anyone. In the store, I really tried to compare sony and samsung. For us, the samsung just looked much better. The samsungs blacks were black, the sonys were grey. Samsung > Sony.
Just buy it!

great tv, no closed captioning option and some inconsistencies with the size
great tv from an image point of view
Price - I thought was great just under $2000
Two things I am bothered with:
- no option for closed captioning, to add it or remove it. All my previous TV's had that .. why the menu would not have it ?? .. I have no idea
- when I connect different DVD players or the computer .. the size needs to be readjusted and rarely I get a good fir. For example, all computer resolutions between 1912/1080 and 1132/768 are using the screen only partially. A Pioneer DVD I just bought see some DVD's in wide screen more, other DVD's in Auto-size mode. If I don't readjust the size manually, the screen is used only partially
Would I wish to change this TV for another one in the same price range (Sony, Toshiba.. ) ? from what I was able to compare so far .. NO !

Awesome TV...Amazon even better!!!
This was my second LNT5265F in about six months...first one went off without a hitch, second one had some problems but Amazon stepped up to the plate and dished out great customer service. Anyone that questions if buying online is a better idea should stop thinking and purchase from Amazon.com!

Gorgeous picture for HD and SD - great price
I did a lot of research before buying this TV. For this size (50"-52"), plasma TVs used to be the value leaders. However, LCD has caught up, feature-wise, so that you can enjoy all the advantages of LCD at the size and price of a plasma. As LCDs have evolved, manufacturers have also addressed many of the limitations of LCDs to where the features are comparable to plasma TVs.
I also researched 60Hz LCD vs 120Hz LCD. Many of the top of the line sets scan at twice the rate to reduce motion blur. These sets, such as the LNT5271, cost significantly more. However, 120Hz introduces additional artifacts so many owners end up turning off this feature.
The LNT5265F produces beautiful images from both High Def (HD) and Standard Def (SD) programming. Get a good quality hdmi cable to hook up the TV, even if your programming is only 1080i, because the quality of the picture is better as it does not get converted to analog and back. Places like Monoprice have excellent, low cost HDMI cables.
The LNT5265F has recently been discountinued and can be had for under $2000. At this price, this set is a bargain. Don't hiestate - get one!
