Refurbished....
Well, I bit on the refurbed LNT5271F. Figured it was worth a toss at $1460. Followed up the buy with a call to customer service to confirm if manual and power cable(s) were included. The rep said yes so it's a go. I've been following the HDTV evolution since I bought a Toshiba 42" rear projection 720p 4 yrs ago. All the brands have good points and bad points. Watching the TV's side by side at all the big boxes indicated Samsung in the top 3 for picture quality. Depending on the store, source, cables, etc etc I could not decide which was clearly better. So, I decided to let my wallet make the call when I saw this price. If anyone has expeience with the refurb 5271F I'd love to hear about your experience.

A must have for Blue-Ray watchers
This is simply a T.V you must have. It has great response time, a clear and detailed picture, and good sound. Set up is easy, and all the HDMI ports come in handy. If you're an owner of a blue-ray, you're going to be VERY happy. You're living the experience. As for the shipping, although it was a very quick delivery, the white glove service wasn't what I had expected. They say they will unpack and set up your T.V. That didn't happen. I got a here's you T.V and have a good day. On top of that, I have to keep that HUGE box for 30 days. White glove was supposed to discard that for me. All in all. No body can beat Amazon's price. Free shipping, no tax, and fast delivery.. You can't go wrong.

Fantastic TV
I am very pleased with the 5271 I purchased. The picture is unbelievable.I have never seen such clarity, especially with a blu-ray going. My only complaint is with the shipping company. I ordered the tv on 12-24 and found through tracking that the tv arrived in Nashville(about an hours drive from my home) on Wednesday 01-02. I kept waiting for a delivery call & it never happened. I finally called them on Friday 01-04 and the soonest they could deliver with 2 people was Thursday 01-10 unless I wanted to "wave" the extra delivery person "which wasn't necessary anyway". I almost fell for that, but luckily found out that waving the extra person also made me responsible if the tv was damaged during delivery. When they did deliver the tv on 01-10, my wife realized this was the same company that had delivered to us a media stand from Crate & Barrel the previous Thursday. They could have delivered the tv the same day and saved themselves two trips and gotten me my tv 1 week earlier. ridiculous...great tv though and great service from amazon

Super fast shipping
The TV is great, but I knew it would be based on the reviews and research I did on it. This review is to applaud Amazon for their shipping time. I ordered the TV on Saturday January 19th in the evening, and the original arrival date was to be January 30th. Not bad, but was hoping for sooner. On 1/21, I received an email with tracking info, and this said the TV arrival was on 1/25. Great! Yesterday, we got a phone call saying the TV would be delivered today (1/24). In a matter of 5 days, the TV is in my living room. The shippers cautiously took the box out of the truck, brought it in, unpacked it, and set it up. I have read other reviews where the shipping became a nightmare, but this was a first class transaction. Kudos, Amazon!

I got a good one!!!!!!!
I got a smokin deal on mine when I ordered 1-10-08 for $2544.99. Delivered white glove on 1-16-08. I hounded Eagle Delivery everyday after shipping and even had them check the dock here in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 1-15-08 when I knew it had to be in town. It was and I got my next day delivery. DishNetwork set up on 1-18-08 and I am in heaven. I have been checking price everyday and didn't think I was going to get a better deal. I just checked and it is $2433.88. Flat out the best price anywhere online. Called Amazon and had $111 refund credited in less than five minutes.
I feel bad for the people who got a bad unit. It really is not cool. I was so worried I would get a lemon, but for all the 5 star reviews vs. the few bad ones I was willing to make the gamble. I am so glad I did. My unit is perfect. My wife is just mad because I invited 20 people to a SuperBowl party at our little house. I didn't think they would all say yes =)
I first saw this tv in a 40" when I had to pick up a friend of mine's kid from work at Best Buy back in November. I couldn't imagine paying $1800 for a TV, but I couldn't get the picture out of my head. It was playing that Blu-Ray demo disc(those of you who keep going to look at it at the store know what I'm talking about =)... Once I commited to the idea of spending that much money, the tv grew from 40 to 46 to 52 inches. It's all too much money for a tv anyway. Might as well spend way too much.
My decision like everyone else came down to the Sony XBR4 and this one, but this is the better unit regardless of price. I started to pay the difference and get the XBR4 because it had less of the negative lemon unit reviews. I can't say that those bad experiences should be ignored, but for the price difference, better picture, and Amazon's price guarantee and delivery service, say...Roll the DICE. I did and am loving it.
