Great TV, Must have for HD watchers
Before I bought this TV, I had a 47" rear projection Hitachi that was about 4 years old. That TV was great, especially at the time but the Samsung is so much better. I am so glad I bought this TV. Everyone that sees it is amazed at the clarity of it. I was used to High Def but this is High Def on steroids. Even my regular DVDs when played through my Blu Ray player are incredible.
The TV is light at just over 70lbs and was easy to install. I mounted mine on the wall. It has 3 HDMI inputs which makes a big difference in the picture. It also has a couple of component and composite hookups but I try and stick with HDMI. It also has a digital audio out which I have running to my stereo. This is great because now, instead of running all my equipment through my stereo, I just run it to the TV and the TV outputs digital sound back to my stereo. It cuts down on the amount of cables so its not so cluttered.
If you can afford this TV I would recommend it without hesitation. You won't be sorry. If you are trying to talk your significant other into letting you buy it, take them to Circuit City or Best Buy, they both have this TV out as their main display. Let them look at it just once and you will have no problem talking them into it. Once they are convinced, buy it on Amazon because the price is a lot better!

Glare no problem....120hz is questionable but I still love this TV
I agonized over this tv for weeks. I kept going back and forth between it and the Sony XBR4 52", which was approximately $1K more expensive. My biggest concerns were the reported glare with this set, but ultimately decided to take the risk and go for it (couldn't really afford the extra just to worry about glare).
I am very glad I did. This set is beautiful. It's been out of the box for 5 days, and I can honestly say I tear up a bit when a football game comes on. The color looks much better than the XBR4 did (at least at the Circuit City display). The glare is not really a problem at all. Now, this is coming from 6 years on a 27" crt, so anything is going to look awesome. But, the shine on the screen is no worse than the crt we had, and no worse than my father-in-law's plasma. I really don't notice it at all unless I look for it, or unless the screen goes dark for a moment. Most of the time the screen is bright enough to shine right through it. This is in a room with quite a few windows, including one directly across from the TV. Granted, the room is big and big enough to have some shade regardless of windows, but really, it's been a non-issue.
I can't guarantee it'll be the same for you, but I can tell you that for me, all the hand wringing over glare was for naught. Perhaps I'm not as much of a videophile purist as some, but I just don't see what the worry is for.
The picture is beautiful...the built-in speakers are perfectly adequate for us (actually sound pretty good). The only thing I've noticed is the motion blur that occurs with 120hz processing on. This is a shame because I bought the set to avoid ghosting via 120hz. I haven't tried the firmware upgrade...suppose I'll get to that one day.
The good news is, though, that I can't notice any ghosting anyway. I've looked for it, but I simply don't see it. I bought a PS3 along with the TV, and Motorstorm looks spectacular. No blurriness, just resolution that makes you feel like you're in the game. And this isn't even in Game mode?!?
Bottom line...I love this TV. Sure, I would've loved just about any big tv after years with a 27" crt, but this thing is beautiful and although it has a few issues, they're hardly worth worrying about. I truly am enjoying it!

Perfect Picture
I am not one for reviews, but:
This HDTV is perfect. My neighbors are amazed and one will order a smaller version of the "71" series for his TV room, actually a small den.
A fast moving football leaves no "trail" and reflections are not noticeable, but I sometimes turn off a lamp behind my recliner when there are many dark scenes.
The built-in speakers are OK, but I do not care because I have a separate 5.1 surround sound system directly connected to a satellite receiver. HDMI connections cut the rat's nest behind the stand.
Eagle delivery was earlier than predicted, but they called a couple days ahead and were right on the arranged time. Two guys carried the TV into the living room, unpacked it, put it on the prearranged stand, turned it on and a test mode showed the unit to be working. They offered to take the packing away, but I decided to keep it in case of problems. I trashed the packing the next week. I gave the delivery guys $5 tip each and suggested they have a beer on me after work.
Best Buy wanted almost $1000 more than Amazon for the same TV and I would have had to pay $70 for delivery. Amazon's price dropped twice in the month since my order and upon my requests they credited the differences to my credit card. For this and other order experiences, Amazon is now my favorite vendor.
I would like to mention a negative about this TV just to enhance my credibility, but I cannot think of any. My only problem is that there are not more HDTV channels, but they are coming. Upconverted DVDs look great.
I love this TV. At this moment, my wife is in the other room watching a football game.

Best Computer Monitor I've Used!
I think everyone agrees this is one of the best in the market today.
Since there are plenty of good reviews on how 5271F handles HDTV Broadcast and HD Movies...
So no need to go into that.
But I bought this LCD TV for computer use. And it is absolutely awesome!
It's Bright, Sharp, Vivid, etc... Having this much "Screen Real-Estate" allows me to have multiple windows exposed at all times... a Browser, music player, Task List, Word, Outlook, etc...
Make sure to get a good VGA cable.. If you get the cheap kind,
then the image on the monitor will look blurry.
Also, make sure to have your source output 1980 x 1080 to this monitor.
Any Lower resolution will look a bit soft.
Bottom line: Not only this is a great HD TV, This is an AMAZING COMPUTER MONITOR!

This is an amazing TV
I've owned a CRT-based rear projection TV (Panasonic PT-47WX49) for over 5 years now and while it displayed DVDs with nice quality, HD sources never really popped like I've seen on newer televisions.
So I've been planning for a year now to upgrade my television. After extensive research, I narrowed it down to the Samsung 52" 71F and the Sony 52" XBR4. The reviews I read for each TV were excellent. But the Samsung had a few key advantages that broke the tie for me:
1) The Samsung is several hundred dollars less
2) When viewing both the Samsung and the Sony at Best Buy and Circuit City, I noticed both images really popped nicely; however, the Samsung was actually a bit nicer.
3) CNET noted that the Samsung was able to de-interlace both video and film based 1080i sources.
Other features of the TV which caught my eye were:
1) Being able to input 1080p signals over HDMI (24p, 60p), Component (60p), and VGA (60p).
2) 120HZ processing
3) HDMI 1.3 with xvColor support (camcorders supporting the new color format have already been released)
4) The attractive exterior of the TV.
I received the TV yesterday via the Eagle (parent company Ceva) white glove delivery service. The TV arrived at the final destination on Thursday (seen via Amazon's tracking). They called me Friday to set up delivery for Saturday between 2pm and 6pm. They arrived at 3pm, unboxed the TV, set it up on my TV stand, and waited until I tested it out. They also removed all packaging material per my request.
Right before they came, I was watching HGTV-HD on my old TV. So when I hooked up the new TV, it started playing the same channel and I was literally blown away. The image was spectacular with the default factory settings (for 'Home' use...it asks you to select 'Home' vs. 'Shop'). The people looked like they were in 3D.
I then popped in a few HD-DVDs, and it was even better than the cable. I could tell the difference between HD-DVDs and regular DVDs on my old HDTV. But the difference between the Samsung and my old HDTV was like night and day. Now I know what true HD looks like.
And the true test was my wife's reaction to the picture. My wife doesn't understand why I needed to buy an HD-DVD player (or my desire to buy a Blu-ray player). She's definitely not into electronic gadgets. But when she saw the HD cable and HD-DVDs running on the new TV, she was blown away. She kept saying how amazing it looks.
I'm extremely happy with the TV, as well as Amazon's delivery service. Also their 30-day low price guarantee is excellent. The TV dropped in price by $5 a few days after I bought it. I know that's not a big deal, but still I called them up, and they immediately credited me for the price difference.
